The results are in!

Once again it has been awhile since I wrote and updated everyone. There has been so much going on I simply forget to get on the computer.

We have received all of Callie's tests. They are ALL normal! All of the blood work was in a normal range. They tested vitamins, minerals and several other things (that I cannot seem to remember).  Also all of the biopsies from her belly were normal. She has a little irritation, but it was unknown as why. The heart doctor also called us and her heart remained stable. We are very thankful to have received such wonderful results. Her ear tubes have been wonderful...she has been so much fun to listen to. She has learned some new sounds and pitches.

Zak also had some big appointments this week. He had the development clinic in Marshfield. He will be getting some new equipment ordered soon. Overall they were very happy with his progress and improvements.
It is hard to believe Zak will be starting school in 1 week. Did we even have a summer? Where does time go?

On August 14th Chris lost a dear friend and co-worker unexpectedly. Kevin with remain in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and two children. Chris is reminded of Kevin daily in his job and is always sharing stories with me. He touched many lives.

Chris's Dad was also in an accident last Friday. His truck looks very rough as he was T-boned on the passenger side. Thankfully god was watching over him and he just had some big bumps and bruises. He did go get checked out to be sure nothing else was going on. He is still soar, but most importantly he is safe.

The AC is in at the new house! YIPPIE!! We are hoping flooring will be installed in the next week or so. We are meeting with them this Saturday. We have moved over a few loads of boxes into storage. It is so nice to think we are so close.

So yes.. Crazy hectic week and a half. It makes me tired thinking of it.

Surgery a Success

Callie had her surgery and tests today. Everything went well. The ear tubes are in, she did have some fluid in there just as we thought. She also had the hearing test. We have not heard final results yet as they were partially through when we talked with ENT. It looked good with her left ear. Hopefully we will hear more soon. Then GI did the upper GI scope with biopsies. She did have some more bleeding than normal, so they will watch her hemoglobin, but she is not doing alright. We should hear lab results on that soon. She did have some irritation in her stomach. We will get results in a week or so. They did not do the PH study to check for reflux as planned as they were not able to get the probe down her nasal passage. It is not a big deal since they were able to actually look at her belly. Then she has the echo (images of her heart). We also have not heard from the doctor on that yet, however we are anticipating the images will be sent to Milwaukee as they have been following as well so it may be a bit before we know anything on that as well. Continue to watch for follow ups and as soon as we know something we will be sure to post.

Last night we had a visitor at the house... Mr. Tooth fairy! Zak lost his second tooth!

Big Week for Callie

This will be a big week for Callie as she is going to be sedated for Surgery and  a few tests in Marshfield. She will have ear tubes, a hearing test, Echo (heart images), GI Scope, and blood work on Tuesday. Hopefully all goes well and we will be home that night, if not we will spend the night in the ICU.

We took the kids to the fair last week. They seemed to enjoy it. Heidi came to town to visit this weekend so we went back to the fair on Sat night and watched the bands play in the beer tents. It was nice just to get out and spend some time with friends.

KABOOM!

A tree feel on the new house yesterday!!!

Chris was there working and had the floor scrubber going so he did not hear anything. He looked up and there was a tree! It did hit the roof. The gutters are damaged, but it does not look like anything major to the roof. Chris, his Dad and Uncle Scot cut up the tree today in the unbearable heat.

The house is moving along. All of the carpet is in and looks amazing. Carpet city donated all of the carpet, materials and labor. They were amazing! We are waiting for the AC to get put in and then the rest of the flooring can be installed. It is a very sensitive floor for installation and the humidity is just too high in the house. Most of the lights are in and half of the trim is done (The half that can be completed). Blinds are in. The house looks amazing!

Flooring

On my way home from work today I stopped at the new house, walked down the hall, took off my shoes and walked into our bedroom. There was Carpet!!!!! I laid on the floor looking up at the ceiling fan spin. We are almost there! I was so excited.

Last night we met with a lady that is going to donate her time to make valances for our windows. She had two fabrics and I absolutely loved one of them. So simple to choose. I walked in the house she had them up on the window and I said " I LOVE IT!" We are starting with the dining room, Living room and Kitchen first.

What else is going on at the house.. Half of the mirrors are up, the fire place is done and looks amazing, the carpet upstairs should be finished tomorrow, the rest of the flooring will hopefully start next week, most of the trim is done, blinds are all up, cabinets are done.. so much going on! It is all so exciting and fun to see all of the hard work of the many contractors and volunteers come together.

Both kids are doing well. Callie slept 11 hours last night. That just does not happen very often. We just heard back from the Ear Nose and Throat doctors and they have decided to do the ear tubes again. We are just waiting for a phone call to schedule them. Zak made it to his follow up from his ear tube removal with out any ear issues.. the next day he got an infection. Bummer! He has been busy swimming at summer school. He loves to swim.

Last weekend my Mom came to visit.. I worked her until we were both soar. She helped to hang the 25 blinds in the house. Callie's God Father also came up from Texas to see his family and friends. We have been able to spend some time catching up with him this week. He will stay until Sunday. He made an AMAZING jumpy for Zak. I can't wait to see him in it. This weekend is Chris's 15 year class reunion, hard to think he has been out of school that long already and my brother will also come to visit. So much going on, but that is the fun of summer!
