Wonderful Week.. and it is only half over!

The kids went to the eye doctor yesterday and we received a great report. Not much has changed with Zak, but we are going to up his glasses script since it is not at full strength yet. Callie's vision seems to be good and right on target with other children her age. No glasses for her... and she likes to watch her TV.

Today Callie went to the allergist. Of all things she can be allergic to we found out she has a Mouse allergy! I was shocked. That was the only thing that came back. Since she is already positive for something they will retest if any symptoms get worse or in 4-5 years. She was put on allergy meds for now since we did have some little friends in the basement this past winter. Hopefully when we move that will make all the difference.

Zak then followed up with ENT which was great. His ears look good. He goes back in 6  months, unless we think he has an infection before then!

A busy few weeks

Once again where does time go?  Life seems to always get away from me these days.

Zak had his ear tubes taken out. He has been battling mersa inside his right ear for a while now... constant drainage and ear infections. The doctor took them out along with some nasty gunk in his ear that once again tested positive for mersa. Surprisingly it did not become infected and drain after surgery. He goes in this week for a recheck to see how they are doing. So far they seem to be doing well.

Zak also finished up Kindergarten and has started summer school which is 4 half days a week for 6 weeks. He has been enjoying swimming each day while he is there.

And Zak's most exciting news of the month...

Look closely at Zak's Smile!

He really is laughing here..

He has a loose tooth for about two weeks. He was super fussy this past week on Wednesday night. We could not seem to do anything to make him happy. I started to wiggle his tooth more and he laughed at me so I pulled it.. he continued to laugh at me. He looks so cute!

As for Callie she continues to sit up more often each day. She is so full of it all over the house. I swear her and Zak had a fight this morning, probably over toys. They were both making so much noise and playing together. I just had to sit back and watch. Callie sure loves her brother. She has also been standing more (with help of course). She really likes to be on her feet or rolling all over. And her very best friend after Zak.. is her reflection!

This past week I turned another year older. Chris took me out for dinner which was so nice just to catch up with each other. We have both been so busy so it is nice just to talk.

Last night we were able to help in Celebrating the Marriage of Jessica and Chad Will.. our close friends. Congrats and Best wishes!!

The house continues to progress.. the trim has started, doors are on, tile is done. Flooring will start the week of July 5th hopefully. It is hard to believe we are almost done. So Exciting!!!

Support for CMN

Children's Miracle Network just had there big fundraiser this past weekend. The stories are always touching. I still remember when Callie was just born and I sat up at 2am watching it on TV for hours. Every year I am amazed at what they pay for to give children and their families what they need along with the support for the Hospital and medical Equipment to help the every day cares. Today we went to Marshfield clinic for Callie to get an equipment fitting for a chair that has the support she needs and a stander. When we got there they had the cutest tiny little chair that she could sit in and would support her. Come to find out Children's Miracle Network purchased the chair and they were going to loan it to Callie if it worked, which it did. It is part of the Hospital Physical Therapy department.. Callie now has the cutest little chair. She is still getting use to it, hopefully tomorrow we can get some cute pictures. Also, she needs a stander that insurance will not pay for. CMN is also purchasing this for us. They are simply amazing. This could not be done with out all the amazing donations they receive each day. The next time you are asked for $1 to put towards CMN or you have some extra change at McDonald's I encourage you to drop it in the bucket and keep in mind the many families you are helping. THANK YOU!

Then Callie was off to Audiology, we hopefully will have some more answers by the end of the week.

Zak finished up his last day of Kindergarten today! What a big boy! He will be in the same class next year, but will interact with the first graders as well. He has a new student joining next year. He will no longer be the youngest. Also, Zak has his first loose tooth... this is happening way to soon! Ok, so he is 6 after all, so it is completely normal, however I just cannot believe my baby boy is growing up! It was exiting to see. Now we just need to watch it and see when it falls out.

Callie sits up on her own

Callie sat up yesterday on her own!! Way to go Callie. It has been so much fun watching her try to figure out how to do things. She definitely wants to be like Big Brother. She has been getting up on all fours a lot lately. She still likes to flip her hand the wrong way, but she is figuring it out. Then yesterday she got up on all fours by the couch and before I knew it she was sitting. I was in shock! About a half hour she did it again! By the time I got the camera she was just about done showing off

We had both kids into the clinic this week. Zak went to see ENT about his tubes since they were bleeding 2 weeks ago and he has had continuous ear infections. They decided to remove his tubes. He will have Surgery on June 10th to have them taken out. We will see how he does with out them. He went in the following day for his pre-opp and is looking good. Callie was also in for her ears to see how they are doing. We decided to have her see audiology this week to see if she does have fluid in her ears. Depending on what the test comes back like will help us determine what the next step is.

Also, Zak will graduate from Kindergarten this week! June 7th is his last day of school. He will be in the same classroom next year, so not to big of a change for him. He will start summer school on June 13th for 6 weeks. Other than that, not big plans for the summer for Zak.

Zak giving Callie a BIG kiss!
